Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been announced, and will "connect the futures" of both of its prequels when it launches later this year.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was the final announcement of the most recent Nintendo Direct, closing out the show with its first trailer and a September 2022 release window.
Taking place in the world of Aionios amid the tensions of hostile nations Keves and Agnus, the story is told from the perspective of protagonists Noah and Mio, along with other characters from the two nations. The game will "connect the futures" of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
