Square Enix has revealed an original Final Fantasy music-based title for the Nintendo 3DS.
The game, titled Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, is described as a theater-rhythm-action game based around the music of the Final Fantasy series.
Gameplay takes place in both overworld scenes and battle scenes, the latter of which are based on the classic "side-view" battle scenes from older Final Fantasy games (those originally released for the NES and SNES).
Classic characters from the series, including Cloud and Lightning, will be playable, while the game's storyline sees them fighting to return light to a special crystal.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is currently without a solid Japanese release date.
Surely that's old news by now...
