SEGA confirms Sonic Generations for Nintendo 3DS

By Jack Taylor – 1 June 2011

SEGA has confirmed for the first time that Sonic Generations will launch for the Nintendo 3DS.

The official confirmation follows the release of the latest edition of Nintendo Power in North America, the cover of which revealed both Sonic Generations and another SEGA title, Shinobi, would be coming to Nintendo 3DS.

The press release from SEGA confirms that the 3DS version of the game will include exclusively-designed levels  - including an unlockable Special Stage - which will not be present in the version designed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

It also confirms that the game will launch worldwide this November for all three currently-announced systems.

The 3DS version of the game will utilise StreetPass to let players collect special content and bonus material otherwise unavailable and will also include an exclusive two-player versus mode, the details of which have not yet been released.

Surely that's old news by now...
