Pokémon Black and White become fastest-selling titles

By Jack Taylor – 8 March 2011

Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version have become the fastest-selling Pokémon titles in history in North America.

Having launched on March 6, Pokémon Black and White have already found their way into millions of Pokémon fans' homes, with their first-day sales beating everything in their path.

In the space of 24 hours on March 6, the games collectively sold 1.08 million units, though figures do not yet show which of the two was more popular.

In the United Kingdom, Pokémon White became the second-best-selling Nintendo DS title ever after one day, selling approximately 13,000 units more than Pokémon Black.

The games' launch in North America broke a record set in April 2007 by Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, which sold 780,000 units between them on launch day - 300,000 less than Black and White.

Surely that's old news by now...
