Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first major new Onimusha title since 2006, has been announced.
Announced during The Game Awards, Capcom is bringing back the Onimusha series with its first all-new console title in almost 20 years, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword announced for a 2026 release on platforms including PlayStation 5.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a single-player action game set in the early Edo period in Kyoto, where a lone samurai fights against an infestation of demonic Genma. It will feature the same sword-based combat that has made the series popular since its debut in 2001, some of which was featured in the game's debut teaser trailer.
