After the title was trademarked shortly before E3, Professor Layton was expected to appear at the event, and appear it did.
Professor Layton and the Last Specter is the first game, chronologically, of the Professor Layton series, set three years after Professor Layton and the Curious Village and the two titles that followed it.
The game includes more puzzles than any of the three games before it - quite a feat considering the near-200 puzzles included in Professor Layton and the Lost Future.
It also includes a life simulation, Professor Layton's London Life, which developer Brownie Brown states is around 100 hours long: however, it is unknown if this will be available in the North American and European versions of the game.
Surely that's old news by now...
