Mario and Sonic to team up for the London 2012 Olympics

By Jack Taylor – 21 April 2011

Nintendo and SEGA have confirmed that Mario and Sonic will once again join forces to celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games with two new games.

It happened at Beijing in 2008 and again in Vancouver last year: now, Mario and Sonic are taking over London in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The title is being developed by SEGA once again, who will also be publishing the title in North America and Europe. Nintendo Company Ltd. will publish it in Japan.

The third in the Mario & Sonic series to launch on Wii, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games will be the first title in the series to launch on the Nintendo 3DS instead of the Nintendo DS.

The launch date for the titles will be announced later in the year. In the meantime, expect to see them at E3 2011 in June.

Surely that's old news by now...
