Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the first chapter in the Final Fantasy VII remake project, has been announced for Nintendo Switch 2.
Revealed during the Switch 2's Nintendo Direct, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an enhanced version of the original Final Fantasy VII Remake featuring Episode Intermission; the original was first released for PlayStation 4 in 2020, with Intergrade following for PlayStation 5 in 2021.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is a retelling of the original story of Cloud Strife, a former member of SOLDIER who signs up as a mercenary with resistance group Avalanche. It was followed in 2024 by the second entry in the remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
No release date was given for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. During the Nintendo Direct, Naoki Hamaguchi - one of the game's directors - also stated: "Please look forward to more updates on the Final Fantasy VII remake project for Switch 2."
